7-6-5 Grilled Pork Tenderloin

Let's talk 7-6-5 method. About ten years ago, we stumbled upon a grilling technique for pork tenderloin and it has been the only way we grill them now. I wish I could remember where, but needless to say it's incredibly easy and very delish. The only bummer is that this recipe will only work on a gas grill.

Simply season your tenderloins with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Preheat your grill to high heat. Throw your tenderloins on there for 7 minutes with the lid closed. No peaking! At exactly 7 minutes, lift the lid and flip them over. Close it up and let cook for another 6 minutes. No peaking! At exactly 6 minutes, turn the grill off but leave the lid closed. Let the pork sit in the meat sauna for exactly 5 minutes. No peaking! At exactly 5 minutes, remove from the grill and tent with foil. Let rest and allow the juices to redistribute for 5-10 minutes. Slice and serve.

We opted for some frozen cauliflower gnocchi from Trader Joe's and some frozen green beans on the side. Sometimes you just have to keep it easy. While the pork was resting, I tossed them both in a little olive oil and lemon pepper seasoning and cooked in the air fryer on 400° for 6 minutes. Dinner was on the table in 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1-2 pork tenderloins, approximately 2-3 lbs each

  • salt

  • pepper

  • garlic powder

Directions

  • Generously season the meat. Preheat gas grill on high for 10-15 minutes.

  • Cook the pork tenderloin on the first side for 7 minutes. Do not lift the lid.

  • Open the grill, flip the meat, and close it back up. Cook for 6 minutes.

  • Without lifting the lid, turn off the grill and let pork sit inside for 5 minutes.

  • Remove pork from grill, tent with foil, and allow to rest for 5-10 minutes.

  • Slice and serve.
