Very early into my low tox lifestyle takeover, I realized that my social media feeds were no longer serving me. Fast food restaurants, unhealthy recipes, candle company sales, and the newest restaurant or bar opening...and those were just the pages that I followed. Don't even get me started on the targeted ads that were constantly popping up, designed to get me to continue the vicious cycle. The sheer volume of pages I had to unfollow was quite the undertaking. Once I was done, I felt so FREE.
Taking my power back and filling my feeds with clean recipes, motivational quotes, low tox products and inspirational leaders has made my time online much more productive. It's no surprise to anyone to hear that social media is not real life - yet it has so much influence on us. So why not influence ourselves in a positive way?! Removing the toxic social media "junk food" and embracing the positive is sure to help influence you in a way that better serves your mental health. It certainly did for me and I encourage you to give it a try!
